Drivers who passed their category B (car) driving test before 1997 have grandfather rights and can drive a 7.5-tonne truck without taking another test. They will have the C1 entitlement on their licence, which covers vehicles from 3.5 to 7.5 tonnes GVW. However, drivers who passed their car driving test from 1 January 1997 will have to take a separate C1 test in order to drive any vehicle weighing in excess of 3.5 tonnes.

The payload very much depends on your chosen spec for the interior. On our standard build you can expect a payload of approximately 11/1200kg.

The short answer is yes! As long as you are able to drive a vehicle above 3.5t the choice to uprate is available but to how much depends on the chassis. Before choosing the chassis we will need to know what you wish to be able to uprate your vehicle to. We can either complete the vehicle uprating for you or guide you on the steps you need to take to complete yourself.

We will certainly look to offer part exchange. However if we are not able to offer this we will offer a full sales service where we will sell your old horsebox on your behalf, taking the hassle and time out of selling.

As a company we don’t offer finance , however, we can help you find the right finance company to approach for your horsebox.

It takes 5-7 weeks to build your Horsebox dependant on the design spec chosen.
