About Piper Horseboxes Ltd

Beautifully bespoke horseboxes

We launched Piper Horseboxes in 2022 - a small, family-run business built on years of experience in manufacturing quality horseboxes. Before founding Piper Horseboxes Ltd, Connor and Shaune worked with a range of well-known brands, which gave us the confidence to launch something we’re truly proud of:

  • A reinforced, caged-effect horsebox.

  • Designed with safety and longevity as our top priority.

  • Fully bespoke to suit you and your horse’s needs.

From day one, we are here to guide you through the design process with professional advice, ensuring yours and your horses safety remains priority.

Our biggest inspiration?

Piper, our daughter, who was born the same week as the business began. She’s now three and already answering the office phone better than her mum! Not long after, Parker joined the team - now nearly two, full of character, and very much Piper’s apprentice.

It’s been an incredible three years, and we’re so grateful for the support we’ve had. We love keeping in touch with our clients and hearing about all of their equestrian achievements.

Follow our journey on social media to see behind the scenes, new builds, and updates.

We can’t wait to hear from you,

Team Piper

Horsebox FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

At Piper Horseboxes, our team are always happy to help. Have a look at some of our horsebox FAQs or get in touch for more information. We welcome clients from across the UK and overseas.

Yes, we understand horses needs are different as well as your own personal preference on design/layout. If you have something in mind then please let the team know. We are committed to making each build bespoke to your and your horses needs.

The specialist paint shop we use to paint each of our Horseboxes is committed to bringing your vision to life. Whilst our standard build spec includes one metallic paint colour, there is of course an option to add additional colours. They will accommodate different designs, please contact our team for a quote.

It currently takes 6-12 weeks to build each Horsebox depending on the spec you choose and whether the vehicle is being uprated above 3.5t.

Safety is paramount with all of our builds. As standard, your Horsebox will have a triple reinforced bulkhead, reinforced side walls, aluminium planked floor/ramp as standard. We welcome any of our Horseboxes to be inspected by a recognised Horsebox inspector.

The payload very much depends on your chosen spec for the interior. A 3.5t with our standard build spec would be expected to achieve a payload of approximately 1000kg. Our 4.5t with a 6 foot, full furniture board grooms space can still expect a payload of 1500kg.

Yes , we often have clients contact us that require a refit or repairs to their existing Horsebox. We can complete any build repair , refit or respray you require. We don’t offer mechanical repairs.

Drivers who passed their category B (car) driving test before 1997 have grandfather rights and can drive a 7.5-tonne truck without taking another test. They will have the C1 entitlement on their licence, which covers vehicles from 3.5 to 7.5 tonnes GVW. However, drivers who passed their car driving test from 1 January 1997 will have to take a separate C1 test in order to drive any vehicle weighing in excess of 3.5 tonnes.

We will certainly look to offer part exchange or a sales service on all 3.5t/4.5t Horseboxes. This is subject to a build and mechanical inspection by Piper Horseboxes. Once this has been completed, we will notify you of the trade in price we can offer you.

We provide a free delivery to Mainland UK for all Horseboxes purchased from Piper Horseboxes providing we have supplied you the chassis. If you provide your own chassis then delivery to Mainland UK will be at an additional charge.

The short answer is yes! As long as you are able to drive a vehicle above 3.5t the choice to uprate is available but to how much depends on the chassis. Before choosing the chassis we will need to know what you wish to be able to uprate your vehicle to. We can either complete the vehicle uprating for you or guide you on the steps you need to take in order to complete the process yourself.

Yes! We have uprated clients current Horseboxes to 3.9t or 4.5t previously. They do not need to be a Piper Horsebox, we are always happy to help.
